Senseless Live

    Hailing from Canada, Senseless Live started out as a team-up between seasoned DJ and producer John Glassey and talented songstress Kim Sykes. Joining Kim’s song writing background with John’s production mastery, the duo managed to put a library of distinctive work under their belt. In their first few months in business, Senseless Live have released their debut single ‘Speak’ displaying the tandem’s instant chemistry, whilst following up with ‘Ricochet’ which came out on Capital Heaven’s ‘Miami Compilation’ in March 2015, further establishing Senseless Live style and sound. Coming from different musical backgrounds, John and Kim have successfully managed to unite their musical vision and create what has now become their signature Deep, Progressive and Tech House inspired style. John Glassey and Kim Sykes joint effort has been a blessing to the electronic music world, having unleashed tonnes of talent into one unique project. Senseless Live first full Album Intentions came out August of 2015 and gained multiple chart success on genre specific entries in the top 50 and higher and managed to hit the top 5 Releases on Beatport.

 

    John Glassey has been on the forefront of music production since 2002, having gone from humble DJ beginnings Back in 1994 playing and learning from legends playing alongside artist such as: John Acquaviva, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Joeski, Nathan Barato, Carlo Lio, Fred Everything, Kevin Yost, Jonny White and Kenny Glasgow to name a few. John’s highly original style has led him to sign with elite labels such as: KMS, Moxi, SP Recordings and Filter, whilst enjoying massive support from the likes of: John Acquaviva, Kevin Yost, Mastiksoul, Tony Thomas, Hernan Catteneo, Tyler Stadius, Carlos Francisco, Demi, Dantiez and Damarii Saunderson, Hermanez, Nick Holder and Matt Darey Along the years, John Glassey has managed to put his signature on a staggering 200 projects, 8 of which ended up on Beatport ‘Top 100’ whilst another 4 climbed up in the ‘Top 10’. All this experience has helped his craft and ability to keep the dance floor in full swing no matter what size. John Glassey has moved crowds from hundreds to thousands and always finishes his sets with the crowd wanting more of his unique blend of deep tech house.

 

    On the other hand, Edmonton based singer Kim Sykes has been singing and writing songs for as long as she remembers, feeding off the musical nurturing given by her family. Before starting her journey with Senseless Live, Kim has collaborated with fellow Edmonton based DJ and producer Parnell Paul, landing opening spots for IO Productions in 2014 for Derrick May and Just Be. Besides such high profile alliances, Kim Sykes work within Senseless Live is now proving that she’s become one of the hottest up-and-coming electronic music vocalists and song writers, having the chance to work and write with Legendary Singer and song writer Ann Saunderson and labels like Defected Records and KMS Records.

 

    2015 brought an innovative touch to their project with the induction of talented guitarist and keyboardist Ron Dazo now the third element within the group. A recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ron spent years training with the some of the best in the business. Rooted within Progressive Metal and Art Rock influences, Ron Dazo is one of the most eclectic musicians around, boasting a rich resume including opened for Rock giants like Finger Eleven and Head of the Herd, sharing the stage with renowned Indian fusion Tabla player Uday Ramdas and Edmonton Folk artists like: Cam Neufeld and Carrie Day. Ron Dazo has now joined John Glassey and Kim Sykes as part of Senseless Live journey that is set to establish them as one of Canada’s finest Electronic music exports.

 

    In January of 2016 the trio had huge success with their second Album Mixed Intentions which carried 13 remixes from their original Intentions Masterpiece, from international Producers from the UK, Germany, Toronto, Egypt, Greece and the USA.

 

    February 2016, the band had collaboration with The Saunderson Brothers, sons of Detroit godfather Kevin Saunderson where Kim represented the band in Detroit to record Other World that was released on legendary KMS Records. The track was first played at Detroit’s famous festival Movement by the Saunderson Brothers Dantiez and Damarrii.

 

    Following up with Other World, the Band had more releases with Capital heaven adding vocals and new sounds to Framewerks Space Walking and joining rising label Cohesive Records from Mexico with 2 EP’s Open Nature and Sunrise Pilgrim Featuring remixes from Spain’s David Granha, Mexico’s Chatty & Tammez Russia’s TrockenSaft, Montreal’s Van Did and Toronto’s Jake Chec.

 

    Senseless Live unique sound has seen them play multiple Western Canadian festivals and cities over the last three years including Astral Harvest, Connect Festival, Cosmic Picnic, Habitat Living Sound, Skylab, Wheelhouse In The Park and Zion Noise with plenty of residencies and a growing fan base worldwide, Senseless Live are continuing to build a sound that is catching attention from some elite players in the scene.

 

    The bands biggest achievement thus far has been an original three track EP for world renowned video game Mass Effect Andromeda for BioWare and EA Games that has displayed what’s to come from the high flying trio. The game came out in March of 2017 setting the stage for the upcoming festival season in Western Canada.

 

     Building a new sound and live show for 2017, Senseless Live have been busy creating music and preparing for their biggest performance to date as they have been asked to play Canada’s premier electronic music festival Shambhala at one of the most beautiful stages built The Living Room. Music has always been their passion and Senseless Live is proving they will not be slowing down any time soon!
