Time to get the party started!

"This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend
The end of our elaborate plans
The end of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes again
Can you picture what will be?
So limitless and free"

Well, it's about that time........ Time to gather again in the gorgeous setting of rural Saskatchewan. Time to assemble The Tribe, howl at the moon, dress in Technicolor Dreamcoats, make plans and break plans, rekindle old flames of freindship and love, explore your love of the outdoors and "The Dancefloor". No matter how long you have been away, The Tribe is waiting with open arms to welcome you back into the fold, we humbly ask you to join us one last time.

This year marks the 22nd, and final year for The Connect Festival. It's a truly bitter-sweet reality to say goodbye to something that has touched so many people.  When the discussion began last year in private with The Tribe regarding how long we can keep this up it was a resounding forever and a day response, no joke, almost everyone said we could keep this up forever.  Then we all sat back and thought about what it takes to run a festival of this scale. Connect is run on the backs of a small crew of core volunteers who give up months of their time, energy and love and that isn't an easy thing. People have come and gone, and come again, into that core and it has always been said: It can't be done without those people. As we all get a little longer in the tooth things like work, children and family take bigger roles in our lives and we run short of time and energy to enjoy things we used to hold in such high regard. It's because of that respect we have for you and the community we have helped foster that it was decided that we have to walk away. Jeff Galaxy has been at the center of this ride since the get go. It was his vision, drive, determination and love that brought this whole thing about and for that, we should be eternally greatful. His supporting cast has changed over the years but one thing has always remained: Love. Love for music, companionship and the great outdoors. Again we humbly ask you to join us one last time and share in that love. Whether you are a Connect "virgin" or someone who played or partied with us years and years ago, this is your chance to come and rock it one last time. We have cooked up some pretty special things and the ideas are percolating fast and furious style to bring you the best Connect yet. Keep your eyes on this space and on our FB page as we will have lots of announcements regarding Artist, Vendor and Volunteer Submissions, how you can get involved, ticket prices and contests coming up in the next few months. The only advice I can give is this: Don't sleep on Connect this year, it will be one for the ages.

In closing, on behalf of Jeff, Kait and all The Tribe, we'd like to thank you all for the support and love you have shown us over the past 21 years. It means the world to all of us to be a part of something so magical and allow you guys a tiny glimpse into our own personal utopia. It's going to be hard to say goodbye but trust in the fact that this will be a send off like no other.  Be good to eachother and See you on the dancefloor!

-M.

"Come on baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end"
